class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">1299<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\">The Count of Forez divided the seigneurial land of Valenches (its original spelling), where several families settled, including the d\u2019Assier family, who would become the owners of the entire estate in the 18th century<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">1840<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\">The estate was completely rebuilt by the d\u2019Assier family. Only the original house, dating back to the 15th century, was preserved, along with the enclosure wall from the 17th century (1738) and the fountain near the dovecote tower, believed to date from the 12th century.<br \/>\nIt was also during this period that the current road (D5) was created. The estate was then at its peak\u2014vast and exceptionally well managed\u2014making it unique in the region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">1843<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The ch\u00e2teau, built in 1843 by the brothers Pierre and Joseph d\u2019Assier, was later enhanced with corner towers (\u201cpepper-pot towers\u201d), as well as foundations and a chapel added in 1868. Two mills, including a rapeseed mill located downstream from the ch\u00e2teau, were destroyed.<br \/>\nThe d\u2019Assier family were among the first lords of Valinches, and the first to reside there, making them the estate\u2019s historic family. In the absence of direct heirs bearing the d\u2019Assier name, the estate was passed on to Jos\u00e9phine de Sylvestre, cousin of the last d\u2019Assier and wife of the Count de Chavagnac. The estate remained the property of the de Chavagnac family until 2014.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\">The estate was taken over by Catherine and G\u00e9rald Pietroy, who notably renovated the large hall of the former stables. From then on, the estate began hosting its first weddings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Muriel and Bruno Faure fell in love with this authentic place and acquired it in February 2020.
